5,000-year-old site found in Iran

The ancient site in Kerman Province could date back 5,000 years.
The site was discovered during a construction project in which parts of the ancient ruins were damaged.
Excavations have discovered artifacts at the site, showing that the buildings beneath the earth once housed early residents in the area.
A number of earthenware shards and intact pieces of pottery have been found.
Two cemeteries with skeletal remains belonging to a male and a female have also been unearthed.
Kerman Province has been described as a prolific site which has yielded for archeologists many interesting relics and artifacts.
